As a daughter of a retired, impeccably prudent and educated RN, this report irks me beyond belief. Nurses are the absolute backbone of any good medical facility, yet are commonly mistreated, under-valued and, in this case, put in deathly dangerous conditions by the lackadaisical approach by both the CDC and this hospital. And this is right in my backyard in Dallas. Anyone who criticizes the nurses for their sloppy adherence to protocol can kiss my a$$. Read this and get a dose of reality of what its truly like on the front lines for these nurses before you judge or offer your layperson Monday morning quarterback critiques. (Having said that, I do agree that the nurse who reportedly had a low-grade fever after treating pt 0 should never have gotten on an airplane.)
