As a first grader attending Wood School on Crab Creek Rd & Milstone Rd.......it took me a while to figure out why I was the victim of the Ruler Attack (teachers would smack my fingers frequently) ........Dad would buy pencil and paper for Mrs. Lewis & Miss Spears to keep for me until I needed it.........for some reason I would mark and draw pictures on the paper instead of school work ......ouch!!!! I dedicate this to my 3 fellow students back then ......and for throwing Gin Sue Huffman new Easter Shoe down the toilet and Marilyn Kinnard for drawing & telling stories to the whole class during school recesses in winter with the cooks and teachers served us hot chocolate ................ geesh ...........I must have been a little brat back then......................If my memory serves me right I do have to mention nice and Polite young lady and fellow student in a different class down the hall by the name of Ruth Fout who never ever got in trouble....LOL!!
