As a football fan, I guess its par for the course when the Vikings do something to harm themselves in dramatic fashion, whether it be on-the-field collapses, running afoul of the law, or otherwise. If what Adrian Peterson did to this four-year-old child is proven true in court, and his mistaken sense for what he deems teaching right from wrong ends up costing him his career, it will be a sad end for a once-in-a-lifetime talent who changed the game for the Purple and gave us in the Helga hats cause to believe we could stand on top of the mountain one day. You can debate all you like about our society becoming soft with the ever-changing rules for parental discipline leaning away from corporal punishment, but the fact of the matter is: If you strike a child, youd better not leave any lasting scars. Dole out the spanking (if you must), but let them know theres nothing personal or anger-driven about it. As for AP, we as fans of the Vikes are saddened, shocked and angered about these developments, but like the stoic Scandinavians most of us are, well bear the brunt of this and emerge stronger. Time to rally behind the rest of the team and Zim, and lets take down the Pats. SKOL!
