As a former Chairman of the Department of Defense Audit Committee at the Pentagon, former Chairman of the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, and a Patriot Guard Rider, I have always placed a high value on the sacrifices of our military personnel and their families. My vision for RI General Treasurer will include the following. - I will appoint a Veteran Liaison Officer - this will be similar to an express lane for veterans and their family members for any interaction with the Treasurers office - The Veteran Liaison Officer will be a Veteran that cares about Veterans issues not a civilian that cares about veterans issues - because it matters. - I will institute a financial training program for all veterans and their families. This will take place pre-deployment, during deployment, and post deployment. This program will pass on best practices in finance so that veterans and their families can rest assured about their finances - I will make sure the funds approved by the voters for the Veterans Home in Bristol is there when it is needed and I will hold everyone accountable to spend it wisely. - Thank you for my freedom.
