Today will probably be full of posts that are meaningful bits from me. The first is for my Mom. Ive written & will always write, that she was his main concern in leaving this earth. The peace he had to make in his heart, was only with leaving her. I know b/c he told me :) The privileged info of an only child :) My mom. The caretaker. I was googling Randy Pausch, who was a siginificant loss a few months after my dads. The same age, & the author of The Last Lecture. I read & listened to it repeatedly during the hospital stay. But his wife, the quiet background to his life...I googled her today. Her words in an interview struck me, Part of the experience of being a caregiver is youre isolated. Youre not part of a team. Youre going through it on your own. So I had nobody to share with this. I had no idea that people were going through similar experiences, looking for a network For my Mom, and all caretakers out there....those of us who will never know the silent suffering that takes place. Especially those like my mom who have my Dad, and now me, that are more of the voice, and she who is always the only reason we are able to really have it. I know parts of what he felt for her, & a small part of the magnitude of what he felt he owed to her. My mother is amazing. heres a link to Mrs Pauschs interview & book. usatoday30.usatoday/life/books/news/story/2012-05-15/jai-pausch-interview-dream-new-dreams/54964024/1
