As a parent, when you are dysregulated, the task of being patient will be infinitely more difficult than when you are regulated. Patience requires an absence of stress. It is only in the absence of stress that you can maintain a sufficient window of tolerance for coping with the stressful presence of another. I know you agree with this, yet the obvious nature of this truth requires a strategy. Hope is not a strategy. I hear many use the mantra of I have to learn to deal with... and leave it there as if it will magically change. Please list your strategy below so others can learn from you. You have all already heard mine even though I will continue to share them till the cows come home.
