As a relative newcomer to this page, having been a member for just over 6 months, I have often lamented the direction that it was taking. Many philosophical disagreements and dissenting views had degenerated into personal attacks on individuals, thus undermining the grain of its raison detre which is aiming for progress. I have observed direct and veiled threats on individual contributors, insults, disrespect for one s Political, religious and gender biases and at least two posts have become a subject of litigation. The events within the last few hours which resulted in the resignation of administrator Minerva Ward, are most unfortunate and should cause many of us to reflect on our actions and therefore, I think the time is ripe for regroup. It is time to come up with some house rules or a new code of conduct if there isnt one. This page has now attracted over 11,000 members and for me that is phenomenal. Consequently, It ought to safeguard its integrity and maintain the highest standards of blogging. At this point, I would like to commend and thank all the administrators for what appears to be a labour of love. We must respect them and that includes their decisions! Thank you all and I wish the entire SLAP family a positive and progressive 2015 and surely look foward to seeing Minerva back!
