As a result of a Road Traffic Collision which occurred about 0240 hours on Saturday 17 August 2013 on the A75 Gretna to Stranraer road near to Calgow Farm, about 1 mile east of Newton Stewart a 19 year old local male who has been named as Kieran Currie who was struck by a passing vehicle sadly succumbed to his injuries within Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary later that day. Police are looking to identify the occupants of a small blue coloured car which stopped at the locus a short time after the accident and offered assistance to others in attendance.
