As a result of an operation targeting vehicle crime in the North-east two stolen vehicles have been recovered and seven people are in custody. The operation, which involved specialist resources from roads policing and air support, was carried out in the Aberdeen and Inverurie areas. Police Scotland can confirm that four females, two aged 16 and two aged 23 and three males aged 17, 18 and 21 have been detained as a result of the operation. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course. The recovered vehicles, a BMW X5, an Audi Q5 and a VW Golf had been stolen within the last two weeks. Chief Inspector Richard Craig said: I would like to thank members of the public for their continued assistance and support. I would reassure our communities that we will continue to target car crime.
