As a vegetarian, I have never ever understood this. This man dived shirtless into freezing cold water to save the life of a duck. In all probability he will kill (directly or indirectly) a chicken or pig or cow or dug or goat or sheep to have his dinner. And then for lunch the next day, and for dinner the next day, and for the rest of his life. If he wanted to save ducks, maybe he should go on a fast. Or turn vegetarian.
