As a warning -- the video is very hard to watch. However, Victoria Stillwells written analysis of what is going on in this video is a good one. A huge challenge here is that this man does not even use aversives correctly. Whats the criteria for punishment or reinforcement? It shifts. If a behavior does not have a clear contingency -- IF I do this, THEN this will happen, and an aversive is being used non-contingently like he is doing in this video, it actually can create neurosis and learned helplessness. Its criminal that people like this man calls himself a behaviorist and creates such fear and unpleasant associations, taking money from people who are seeking help. Well, its not literally criminal, but I wish it was. Videos like this showcase the need for licensing and regulation in the dog training/behavior industry. Consumers unfortunately have no protection against guys like this.
