As always in rescue, there are highs and lows. Yesterday we received some very sad news about Buster, the 15 year old crossbreed that Foal rescued from the dog pound in June 2014 after his owner died. Buster was due to be euthanized in the pound as he had no owner but neighbours rang us to ask if we could help. Foal pleaded for a fosterer and two very special girls offered Buster a forever home. Julie and Eleanor saw past an old dog and gave Buster a home full of love and play. The difference in Buster whilst Julie and Eleanor owned him was huge - Ill never forget Buster fell asleep in our reception 5 minutes after arriving from the pound! He was a depressed, downtrodden dog covered in urine burns when I first met him. Julie and Eleanor gave him light in his eyes and indulged in his biggest love - a tennis ball! Julie has provided some very special photos of Buster as she wants to remember him. Heres some words from Julie and Eleanor: Ive attached a couple of my favourite Buster photos. My beautiful boy! We miss him so much around the house, him following us around everywhere-even into the loo!!!, his really loud snoring and him dropping his ball into his water bowl then putting it on my lap. I cant believe how much he brought to our lives and keep expecting him to come and drop a soggy ball on my lap. Unfortunately Buster had a series of severe fits over a very short period that the vet suspected may of been caused by a brain tumour possibly due to the Cushing Disease that Buster had. Buster went to his final sleep Thursday morning. My deepest and heartfelt thanks to Julie and Eleanor who gave this dog what was possibly the happiest time of his life. Sleep well old fella and dont forget your tennis ball. Sarah
