As an environmentalist, which is something I think most or all good earth loving Hippies are, please watch Cowspiracy....its free on Youtube right now (not graphic)...start with just the first ten minutes and take it from there. It is something that every person NEEDS to see. There is no reason not too watch. Please watch the movie...pay attention to who is talking and what they are saying, as well as the facts and where they are coming from. Even if we turned off all the lights and didnt use another drop of fuel, we would still exceed our present global warming emissions at a catastrophic level and we could be wiped out in less than two decades. Dont believe me? Watch Cowspiracy. If we dont address animal agriculture when it comes to environmentalism then we are literally wasting our time. It takes 18 times more land and energy to produce milk and meat products than it does to produce plants. It takes 2,500 gallons of water to produce one pound of beef for example...and the milk and beef industries are inseparably married to each other. Animal agriculture causes a minimum of 18% pf our global warming emissions, more than the entire transportation system combined (including planes and ships), and animal agriculture eats up 55% of our clean water...... 55%. It is the reason for 70% of our deforested rain forest as well. And if you think that grass fed, organic, or free range is better....think again.
