As an informed human living on the west coast (less than a mile from the ocean), Ive been concerned about this for a while, and, having already accepted my inevitable death, Ive decided to stay here, at least for a while longer. This issue is not one for west coasters alone. As you can see in a few of the slides the impact reaches across the continent and it is really only a matter of time before it is a widespread global issue on multiple levels. Have we already done ourselves in? Maybe, maybe not. The fact at hand is that we cannot continue in the ways we have since the industrial revolution: We cannot continue to treat this planet as an infinitely disposable resource for temporary and limited economic gain (remember money is an imaginary invention of man). We cannot continue to use cross species incumbents modify the genetic code of our existence and subsistence. We cannot continue to pour exorbitant amounts of radical chemicals into our food, water and air without far-reaching catastrophe. This much is clear.
