As everyone knows the government is closed and a lot of people are out of work. Many people might not know that the unemployment rate for veterans is higher than the general public. For the past two years I have been working with the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve and Hero 2 Hired (H2H) with veteran employment. Being a veteran, and at one time unemployed, this is a very important issue for me. Recently, I reached out to American Legion Post 206 in Chesapeake Beach to see if they were interested in letting me use their hall for a career fair and they have agreed. There will be a career fair for veterans and their spouses on November 8th from 10am to 2pm for veterans and their spouses. If you know a veteran or the spouse of a veteran that is currently looking for employment please tell them about this event. Also, NO money is being made off this event and employers are NOT being charged to attend like a lot of other veteran hiring events.
