As far as the Cleveland Browns go... you know, at the beginning - TopicsExpress

As far as the Cleveland Browns go... you know, at the beginning of the year, like before the preseason, when I saw the schedule, I thought the MAX number of wins would be 7, and here we are with 7 wins with two games to play. I find it hard to complain about the Browns, they have been horrible the last several years, and are trying to dig out of several bad drafts. Getting ANOTHER QB next year would be stupid. Hoyer was on top of the world when he crushed the Bengals barely a month ago, and was even better before Mack went down and we were running the ball better. With no real #1 WR most of the year, our pro-bowl TE being hurt, this is what you get. The main reason Hoyer started sucking was the fact that he was told to force feed Josh pot Gordon, who admittedly made several wrong reads. Cameron also in the endzone the week before. You could account at least 1/2 of Hoyers INTS in the 2nd half of the season to forcing the ball to players coming back from suspension or injury because he was told to do so. You can attribute the lack of TDs to the same reason, he wasnt throwing to the other players that maybe were open. So, this Sunday, we will see former Cleveland Brown DEREK ANDERSON come in and beat CLE. Yeah, that same guy that led us to 10 wins in 2007. What did we do right after that? We DRAFTED a quarterback, Brady Quinn (thanks a lot Brad Beltempo you golden domer). Did we draft anything to support the team that we had? Not in the first round, we drafted a QB. Since we got rid of that bum Derek Anderson, we have spent 1st round draft picks on Quinn, Weeden, & Manziel, and a 3rd round pick on Colt McCoy. If we had kept DA, and used those four high picks on anything but QB, you cant tell me we would be worse off than today. We would still have Gordon, the RBs we have, J Cameron, J Thomas, J Haden, etc, etc... but we would have 3 first rounders and a third rounder filling gaps on the team... Is Anderson a Hall of Famer, heck no! But in one year of starting 15 games, he broke or nearly broke many Browns passing records. In 2007 he threw for 3700 plus yards with 29 TD vs 19 INTS. THIS YEAR, for the Panthers, he was played 6 games, and has a QB rating of 105 with 5 TDs vs 0 INTS. Please anyone, go ahead and shoot down my logic with FACTS. I see no holes in my argument.
