As great as JK is, he was only human. Perhaps Maitreya the Buddha, yes, but Buddhas (& all avatars) are human too. I respectfully opine that the only purpose of human life (perhaps life itself) is evolution. We have evolved, and our only purpose is to aid evolution onward. All the yogic practises are nothing but evolutionary tools. In our brief societal history, we have done everything we can to dominate evolution and continue to invent ever new methods to tweak a machine we havent even begun to understand. The ultimate stupidity, no? :) If we could, for a moment, put aside our petty concerns with ourselves and the lives we have built for ourselves, and realise this simple and absolute fact then none of our societal problems including climate change will continue to be problems. Every single one of our problems will have been resolved in that single realisation. That we are here to aid life evolve into its fullest and relatively perfect expression of the divine.
