As groomers, we tend to have a higher standard when we work on our own dogs, and often i think the public assumes your dogs are flawless for the processes. :p how many of you have not so cooperative dogs yourself? My standard poodle is pretty great on the table, esp for a baby but shes been worked on sense 4 weeks old, and every 2 weeks sense then. I also own one of those rare corgis who is fantastic for nail trims, brushing etc. My dads collie though is harder. He doesnt like the table, grooming makes him anxious (and hes never had a bad experience, im the only one whos done him) he doesnt like his back legs done (he isn done enough to be use to it) and hes a big sissy for baths, although in the end, hes not horrible. The attached picture is one of the first times Athena was groomed at my shop at 9-10 weeks old. Shes now 5 months.
