As i am experiencing yet again on an invited trip abroad to paint, the hospitality is quite incredible. Home cooked food, personal tour of the island, a hotel with a room to die for and people so open and friendly and welcoming it seems like we have been friends forever. Cant wait to get my hands on some paint tomorrow and start making a mess. The exhibition opens on Tuesday evening and Ill be running round the old town of Funchal Maderia painting on different things and in different spots. Still cant quite get my head around being guest of honour for the festival but Ill do my bed to be worthy of the title with lots of smiling and painting. (I would adds chatting but my Portuguese doesnt go beyond hello and Thank you.)
