As if I havent posted enough today.. :) One of my dogs is a blood donor for Canine Blood Heroes. When he was donating today I was talking with the tech who draws the blood and she said she wants to do a typing clinic and would be happy to do one if I got enough people interested. There are requirements, your dog must be over 50 pounds, healthy, between 1-7 years old, be able to lay still for 10 minutes, and be able to commit to the program for 2 years. Most of all, your dog must have a universal blood type and be free of any diseases! The typing clinic will be able to tell us your dogs blood type and verify they are free of diseases and it is no cost to you. If your dog does become a canine blood hero, they get a $50 credit to your regular vet every time they donate blood! Please let me know if you are interested so I can plan a typing clinic with the tech who runs the program. It will most likely be in the west valley, but if your dog becomes a hero they do draw blood in the east valley and central Phoenix. Let me know if youre interested!
