:As if I needed further proof that Arizona sucks- as I was walking down to the post office today, someone came up behind me on a bicycle and knocked me square in the back and off the sidewalk into the street. On Olive. Close to 59th ave. Anyone familiar with the area knows that this intersection has managed to get on top 10 lists in the US as far as the most dangerous roads because there are so many accidents because people dont pay attention. So, not shocking that some jerk not paying attention on their bike would slam into me. Although Im not sure it was entirely accidental as it looked like one of the people calling out to me about my hijab a few minutes before and their only response to me flying into traffic was to keep going and sort of laugh (trying to let it go instead of making too many assumptions. It could very well and is likely that it was just a random jerk who happened to look like random jerks A and B from before. Arizona is riddled with them...). It wouldnt be so bad, but being knocked into the street into traffic is a little dangerous and it re-twisted my ankle that I messed up while I was in England. So now, again, I cant move my ankle or smaller toes and it hurts from my toes halfway up my leg. And the fact that the popping and crunching every time I try to move my ankle or walk are definitely contributing to some gross sensations (the gross sound and sensation bothers me more than the pain. Weird, but it does). Even more awesome was that I still had to finish walking MOST of the several blocks to the post office and back home. Thankfully my mother noticed I wasnt home when she woke up from her nap and decided to drive out the route I left on the note that Id be travelling. I did walk MOST of the way by myself, but alhamdulilah my mother got to me a decent ways from having to walk ALL the way back.
