As many of my friends here on Facebook know I rarely post anything. I enjoy the contact that Facebook offers but rarely feel I have anything that needs to be shared. Today I was asked to share some serious news by both my brother and my mother. As many people know I have a younger sister Debbie Lillie Kauffman ( not a Facebook member ). She is happily married and lives in Atlanta with her two son and husband. This past sunday I received a phone call from her wishing to discuss something serious. Many know that a few years back Debbie battled breast cancer and with the help of her doctors seemed to have rid her body of that disease. This sunday I learned that some cells had gone undetected and had moved to other parts of her body. She is currently in treatment now but the cancer has been classified as stage 4 meaning that no cure is available. From what I understand her outlook is 2 to 10 years of life. Right now I have more questions than answers but I know this, Debbie would like the people that know her to understand her condition. She would appreciate your prayers and warm thoughts. She is struggling right now and also has asked for her privacy. She would enjoy reading a heartfelt letter but has asked that all phone calls or visits be delayed at this time while she tries to cope with her devastating news. I will do my best to update people here who are concerned. Please contact me for her address if you are interested in writing, and also I will pass on any messages that I can. Thank you in advance for your thoughts and prayers in this matter. May God bless us all, especially my sister and her family. Thank you.
