As many of you know, my canine princess Cana shattered her elbow, - TopicsExpress

As many of you know, my canine princess Cana shattered her elbow, shoulder and bones in her left front arm on July 18th while running a lure course at Brookfield Humane Society. She had a full shoulder and leg amputation on July 21st. On Robs Birthday, July 30th, it was determined that she has leukemia in her white blood cells. Which is one of the most rapidly spreading cancers in dogs. She was given a best case scenario of 4 months without radiation and chemotherapy. We have opted NOT to pursue treatment, as I just cant put an animal through this to only possibly buy her an additional 4 months, up to 8 months best case scenario. In lieu of treatment, I have been using essential oils, daily massage, Life Vantage for Canines, as well as extra attention, special treatment and an enormous amount of treats. Although I hope to never go through the first month of post opp again, Cana has been thriving. We purchased a special order wheelchair for her, although she despises it and refuses to move in it. Although I never thought possible, our bond has intensified dramatically. Cana comes to work with me daily, and runs all my errands with me, if its not too cold for her in the car. She has been in numerous parades over the last few months, thanks to her trusty wagon that she adores. And thanks to Rob for lighting it up for her. (why not give him an excuse to put lights on something else!!!) When I leave the house without her, she has difficulty understanding why she is not going with me. She still enjoys working obedience, although we can only do a few minutes at a time. She is the most loyal, faithful companion I could ask for. I am so extremely thankful and blessed that she still has quality of life and is still here with me! Thank you God for this precious gift and the extra time I have cherished everyday since her accident. My Cana is a true inspiration to me!
