As many of you know, my son Brooks will be undergoing surgery Friday, June 6 to repair a chest wall defect that he has had since birth. I have had lots of questions about the condition and the surgical procedure to repair it and thought that this video that was shared with us might be interesting to you as well. Its 6 minutes long but really the procedure is explained beginning at 1:57 into the video (it is not graphic). He is having the procedure done at Greenville Memorial Hospital on Friday and is scheduled to stay in until Tuesday, June 10. His first month of summer will be very limited but he is very happy about finally getting the procedure done as it has gotten to be painful and he is somewhat self-conscious of the way it looks now.
