As many of you know, the NC Senate removed the House amendment - TopicsExpress

As many of you know, the NC Senate removed the House amendment during a session last night that occurred while most of us were sleeping. Presently, it looks like North Carolina will have a $10M grant for the first six months of 2015. Going into the long session next year, FIW (and other groups like ours), will be working with lawmakers to formulate a new, competitive, and more profitable film incentive program to try and keep North Carolina working. In the meantime, we ask everyone in the North Carolina production community to please share your personal story with lawmakers (especially in your district). If you take work out-of-state, please let them know. When you pay thousands into Georgias economy, tell them about it. If you plan to move due to the changes to our incentive, please share that story. Soon, the shows working in North Carolina will announce that they are leaving for good. Even with a new incentive for 2016, they wont come back. Well be left to rebuild an industry that is tracking to generate half-a-billion dollars this year. It will, ironically, be our biggest single year ever, which is the true testament for how well the current incentive program was working. Thank you for all you do and have done. Safe travels.
