As many of you may or may not have heard....BANSHEE is leaving NC for Season 4 & 5 filming thanks to the NC Senates & Governors actions...or there lack of.. Unless something changes quickly -many other projects are sure to do the same. SC sadly has not been given enough money in incentives to handle more than a few shows each year. Please remember to vote against any politicians up for re election - some may be this November -who do not support the film industry. Sadly these politicians think film only employs a few hundred a year. I have news for them - I hire hundreds/thousands a month to film as extras. Yes -all of which are voters and all are excited a film or TV show is filming in their area. In every show inbox inbox I have THOUSANDS of folks submitting because they are excited about film or in need the extra income. I receive messages every day from voters from these states saying -thank you for providing me some work while in between jobs, or how it is the ONLY income they have been able to find, helping seniors get by with additional money, gave them something to look forward to during a difficult time in their life, gave them a reason to get out of bed after dealing with the loss of a love one, on a cancer patients bucket list and more. It hurts me they do not want to hear about these stories and differences filming makes in many lives...or care about such. I also recall the pride people in the state and area feel when a project filmed in their area wins a big award -such as Homeland and Forrest Gump did. Now that I will be unemployed - I will have plenty of time to research and find out who votes against film in NC and SC and make sure all are aware who is doing such. We may not be rich and own Chick Fil A or be a big corp paying zero taxes such as Duke Power -but we can have power in numbers when it comes time to vote on election days. Oh look -I have over 40, 000 voters on this page alone (and I have several) and zillion folks in every shows inboxes that dont follow facebook. Rest assured all of which will be hearing from us with the list of anti film politicians. Yes, I am very passionate about this as I see daily the difference film makes in people lives... and it isnt always about a dollar.
