Kayel Taylor: Democracy Nows guest this morning, Ryan Shapiro, is suing the National Security Administration for its denial of FOIA requests, primarily for information on the assistance given by U.S. federal agencies in the capture and imprisonment of Nelson Mandela in South Africa. Among other things, says Shapiro, the NSA claimed that even to confirm or deny any records relating to this would endanger national security and foreign relations. Mandela was on the U.S. terrorist watch list until recently, including his entire tenure as South Africas president.
