As many of you people know I grew up in India. In India pretty much anyone that is educated and knows what is going on does not vote. They have no faith in the political system. There is no discernible difference between the options they have. The burreaucracy is deeply embedded and all leftist and un-elected. Get on the wrong side of them and they can make your life hell. Apathy has set in across massive swaths of the country. People become inwardly focused and live life the best they can and work the system and pay little attention to political affairs because they feel they have no control or say and the ruling class is totally disconnected from the people anyways. There is no real discussion of individual freedom or rights, people talk about how they can game the system and civic sense is non existent if at all... Sound familiar ??
