As many of you that know me, know I do not post much on facebook. But this is one time that I must express my gratitude and appreciation. I know that every parent that has sons and daughters think they have the best in the world as they should. But I have got to say I have the most thoughtful and loving sons anyone could anyone could ever imagine. My oldest son Joe made all the reservations and costs to take his Dad to San Diego, so I could go back and visit Marine Corps Recruit Depot, where I went through boot camp 47 years ago. Upon arriving at Louisville airport, Joe told me to walk ahead of him and after a few steps, said to look to my left. There was my other son, Bob, and Joe had made it possible for him to go with us. I, of course, had tears in my eyes because I could not believe I was going back to the place that had turned me into a man. We had the best time ever and watching the graduation ceremonies and talking to some of the drill instructors really made my day along with more tears. Because as I looked out over this company of Marines, I remembered my last time on the parade deck and as I looked their faces, I know some of them will never make it back home. But the one thing I do know, they will help all of us to sleep better at night. Joes wife, Missy, I want to thank so much because Joe is gone so much of the time. We got home at eleven in the pm and Joe had to fly back out at 4 am. And, of course, Bob had to be back in the am also. Sons, you have made your father a very satisfied and extremely proud person. I love you both more than anything in the world.
