As mentioned in previous posts; we are working towards building a ship and putting together a crew. I, myself will be back in school in January for Marine Engineering or something of the like which will be much more useful for our current goals than my previous choice (Nutrition Science.) Between my gorgeous girlfriend Tanya Blades and myself we will be at about $100-130k in the next 3 years. We are looking for other contributors that will put us up around $150-200k for the ship and its supplies. Every little bit counts for anyone wanting contribute even as little as $5,10,20 a month. The ship will be a 70 Catamaran style yacht with enough room for a crew of 10-15 people to travel comfortably. It will contain a power grid consisting of solar, hydro and wind. The biggest issues before us would be the hull design. I want to keep the bilge under 4 which will aid us in better exploration of shallow waters around island regions. Ive also been playing around with the idea of hydro fins/hydrofoil which will make the ship fly above the water at high speeds making open ocean crossings much quicker. As of yet the crew is looking as such; Matt will be my first mate. Tanya is looking like she will run the ships galley and be our main chef with possibly 1 other cook. Raymond along with 1 or 2 others will be our full time on board fishermen, supplying our crew with fresh seafood. Cant really argue with ice cold sushi for breakfast... Well at least I cant! haha :) Joe will help with most of the construction on board, weather or not he and his longtime friend Brittany will join the crew for its expeditions is yet to be decided.
