As news of the failure to override Mayor Williams veto of cuts to WFD spreads, people throughout all of New Castle County need to know that had these cuts gone through, the added strain on the WFD would surely result in more incidents where volunteer fire companies are called upon to assist WFD on fire and rescue calls. And while those in the fire service know that we are all here for the same reason, to protect lives and property, the defeat of the $500,000 cuts to WFD means we ALL can feel a little bit safer tonight.
