As of CST, today marks the two year anniversary of my moms passing. Its been a really sad, beautiful, weird, wonderful, perplexing, maddening, hateful, enigmatic, magical, mundane, sleepless, and tiring two years. There are a lot of songs Ive wanted her to hear, scary movies Ive wanted to watch with her, books that Ive wanted her to read, friends Ive wanted her to meet. Over the last couple of years Ive tried to let you guys in on things about my mom to let you get to know her better, in turn, getting to know me better. So, for this time, my mom loved drums, particularly drum lines. In remembrance of my mom, Im asking friends and family to find a video on YouTube or on the web of a really cool drum line or a song with a really great drum beat or soloand post it below. Say something about her if you like, or saying nothing. Just let her know that shes not forgotten. I love you all. Let the Marie Pierce Joyner Drumming Extravaganza commence!
