As one era ends for Alex Salmond a new day has dawned for Scotland. A day, while still in its infancy, has brought with it a new level of political consciousness. With around 1 in 5 Scots now members of political parties it will not be long before a new breed of politician comes forth. Alex Salmond has set the bar and I believe that he has set it high. With an impeccable reputation that all his opponents have failed entirely to discredit and a passion for the welfare of a nation that we have not seen in such a long time. But just because he has set it high does not mean that the new generation of politicians cannot achieve it or more probably to surpass it. I have faith that I will not be disappointed. I want the new generation to fight for people not power. I believe that just because you choose to be a career politician does not mean sinking to the bottom by lining their pockets. I want them to set an example by acting for the people not against them. By speaking for those with no voice. By doing for those who cant. By fighting for those who cant. They must be reputable. They must be vigilant. They must choose the moral high ground at every turn. There is a scent of revolution in the air. It is just a hint under the odours of corruption, sleaze and fear but it is there none the less. It is getting stronger and stronger the closer we get to May. We have got them scared. We have even got some of them running. When you understand the nature of the thing, then you understand what it is capable of. Our opponents have forgotten where they come from. If they cant remember where they come from then they dont know where they are. We know where they are going though because we remember. We never will forget what the did for themselves and what they did to us. Thank you Alex Salmond for everything that you have done and will do for us. I am forever grateful to you. You woke us up and educated us. You listened, You helped us grow. You showed us that things can be better and now we owe you a debt that no-one will ever be able to repay until we have our independence. Although I believe a great many of us will endeavour to settle our balance. Thank you Nicola Sturgeon and Stewart Hosie for taking the mantle. Wear it well and honestly and you will always have a support unknown by any other Brittish politicians or parties. Show us how we can help and we will follow.
