As parents we know its our job to teach our kids everything we can, but this week Josh has taught me something big. Hes taken a less than ideal situation and has embraced it with excitement. He may be the oldest kid on his team this year, but hes landed himself a spot as a top draft pick for them, hes setting a great example for the younger players, and hes taking this opportunity to develop as a all around team player. Had he landed a spot on a major 70 team he wouldnt dream of seeing the pitching mound since things are so competitive, but finishing out his last year at KN on a great Major 60 team will be so much fun for him! You know they have confidence in the kid when after his first official day on the mound, theyve given him the nickname Striker. Love it! I havent seen this spark in him on the field in a few years, and its so nice to see! Thats the boy that begged me to let him play ball before his rookie year. :)
