As previously posted, EPIC and St. Maarten Nature Foundation participated in the Caribbean Summit of Political and Business Leaders in the British Virgin Islands from May 17th to 18th, 2013 at the invitation of the Minister of VROMI. The Summit brought together Political-, Business Leaders and NGOs to launch Phase 2 of the Caribbean Challenge Initiative to address environmental challenges in the Caribbean. EPIC hopes that St. Maarten’s Politicians will soon join this commendable initiative and legally protect St. Maarten’s remaining wetlands, our marine environment, the Emilio Wilson Estate and other areas of ecological significance.
