As promised, here is my #ALSicebucketchallenge video, recorded tonight. I was nominated by my niece, Kelsie Hegarty, thanks Kels! ;) I nominate my darling sister, Sara Burgin Almeida, my niece, Madison Almeida (because I think shed like it) and whoever has wanted to participate but hasnt yet been nominated. You have 24 hours. Some of the information I gave in my video was incorrect. Since July 29, when the campaign kicked off, more than $2.3 million dollars has been donated to the national ALS Association. The organization collected $25,000 in the same period last year. ALS stands for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and is often referred to as Lou Gehrigs Disease, its a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord.
