As promised, part two of my 7 part mini study: I decided first I needed to fully accept in living faith Jesus into my life. I am not talking about a Jesus that has been twisted by theology and misconceptions. But, the Lord God Himself that was in the flesh some 2,000 years ago. Ephesians 2:8-9 says For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith -- and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God -- not by works, so that no one can boast. So I have put away the notion that I need to earn my way into heaven. But I still cling to the fact that if I accepted Jesus my life will radically change and transform. Jesus paid the price for me! His offer on the cross is all that I need to be saved! Hebrews 7:27-28 says, “He (Jesus) sacrificed himself for their sins once for all when he offered himself.” NIV Jesus paid the price of my salvation. All I need to do is accept his offer in faith and I am saved! The next steps in this path of salvation must be made by living saved. This simple gospel message of Christ crucified and resurrected is a stumbling block to those wise in their own eyes. 1 Corinthians 1:23: states “We preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles.” NIV In other words it’s an offense to religious people and it’s an offense to the philosophies of this world! It’s just too simple for them. However, it’s the truth from God!
