As promised this post will be on how to protect yourself against the attack demonstrated in the previous post. On the first trial the attack was directly blocked by the windows firewall preventing its progress, implies that u should never ever turn off your windows firewall. On the second trial we were able to bypass the windows firewall but again we got blocked by the windows defender, so never stop windows defender and keep it always updated . After some encryptions to our “attack” we bypassed the windows firewall and defender and got our attack running smoothly. The purpose of our attack was to check the security of the windows 8.1 without any anti-virus software . after installing ESET smart security 6 software the attack was useless ,no matter how much we encrypt the “attack” it is blocked. To sum up, always keep your windows up to date ( never turn off automatic updates even though they might become bothering when restarting the pc). Never turn off windows firewall and windows defender. And last, get a full version anti-virus ( I prefer the ESET Smart Security ) and always keep it updated this will secure your pc 90% . and the 10% because nothing is perfectly secured . these steps concerning the attack discussed previously, more methods to secure your digital life will be posted in this page . keep calm and surf safely :) M.Najim
