As requested by Bellon Chintobwa: The Children of Litunga LewaniaII (Mbikusita) are: 1) MWANAN’ONO – Born in 1932, now late - named by Litunga Imwiko the First after himself – Educated at: Kafue, Tigerkroof (Northern Cape, South Africa), Jackson State (Mississippi, USA) – BSc. (Industrial Arts Education) – one of few graduates before Zambia’s Independence – graduated in May 1963: He was a classmate of Civil Right leader James Meredith and Soul Music State Junior Walker. Taught at Munali Secindary School in Lusaka and Chizongwe Technical Secondary School in Chipata as wel as being Founder Principla of Lundazi Secondary School, District Education Officer in Lusaka and Kabwe. Education in America paid for on a college sponsored tuition scholarship, with room, board and living expenses covered through student work study. 2) SIFUNISO – Born 1938, now late – Educated at: Barotse National School and a six year apprentice training course in Printing in Edinburg, Scotland, U.K. Worked for printing companies in Ndola and was the first Chairman of the first Mongu Council. The apprentice programme paid for by employer, with room, board and living expenses covered through trainee’s earnings on the job. 3) LITIA - Born in 1939, now late - named after the Litunga Yeta IV (Litia Lewanika) – Education: Educated at: Kalela School, Kitwe, Chalimbana School in Lusaka, and An Agricultural College in Zimbabwe, California Polytechnic College in USA. B.Sc. (Agriculture). Worked as District Agricultural Officer at Kasempa; Served as Senior Chief of Kaoma. Education in America paid for on a college sponsored tuition scholarship, with room, board and living expenses covered through student work study. 4) INONGE – Born in 1943. Named after the mother of Litunga Lewanika the First. Educated at Wusakile School, Chipembi School at Chisamba,. Orange Coast College and California Polytechnic College in California as well as New York University in New York , A.A., BSc., M. A., Ph D as well as Doctor of Laws (Honorary) and Doctor of Divinity (Honorary). Taught at Evelyn Hone College, Mongu Teacher Training College and University of Zambia as well as Haggai Institute in Manila, Philippines. Served as UNICF Country Representation in Kenya, Regional Representative in East Africa based in Nairobi as well as Regional Representative in West Africa based in Abidjan, Ivory Coast. She was the proposer and first Chairperson of MMD Sub-Committee on Youth and Child Development. Served as MP for Senanga and Mongu as well as Ambassador Special Duties, USA and several country in the Americas and EU, Belgium, Holland and other EU countries. Currently serving as the Chancellor of the University for Women in Zimbabwe and as the Africa Representative of the H-Clubs involved in youth development. Education in America paid for on a college sponsored tuition scholarship, with room, board and living expenses covered through student work study, except for the PhD. 5) MBUYWANA – Born in 1945 at Nkana-Kitwe. Named after a daughter of Mbuywamwambwa and a daughter of Litunga Lewanika the First r by Lundambuyu Lewanika (later the Mbwanjikana) Educated at Wusakile School, Kasissi School in Lusaka, and Chipembi School at Chisamba, Oxford College of Further Education in England, David Livingstone Teacher Training College in Livingstone, Jackson State University in Mississippi in USA and University of Tennessee in Tennessee, USA. B.Sc. And M.Sc. (Special Education). Taught at Mabumbu School and schools in Livingstone nd Kasama. Worked for Liver Brothers in Ndola. Lectured at the Lusaka College for Special Education Teachers. Founder and organizer of the Mukola House School that is the Limulunga Community School, currently providing free education 600 plus needy children. Education in America paid for on a college sponsored tuition scholarship, with room, board and living expenses covered through student work study. 6) AKASHAMBATWA –Born in 1948 at Nkana-Kiwe. Namned after Akashambatwa Lewanika by Litunga Imwiko the First. Educated at Wusakile School, Tunduya School at Munali in Lusaka, Kalela Scholl in Kitwe, Chalimbana School in Lusaka, Bethany School in Kent, England, and Oxford College of Further Education in England, Jackson State University in Mississippi, Cornell University in New York, Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada and Boston University in Massachusetts in USA. B.A., M.P.S., M.A., M.L.S., as well as D. Phil. (Honorary). Fellow of the Economic Development Institute of the World Bank, a Certificate holder in, Science and Technology Innovation Programme, John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, Certificate Holder in Management Accountancy International Labour Organization Course and a Certificate holder of the United Nations Institute for Public Enterprise, Ljubljana, Slovenia in Yugoslavia. Worked as Managing Director of TAZARA. Served as Cabinet Minister of Science, Technology and Vocational Training, Special Assistant to the President, Chairman of National Economic Advisory Council, Chairman of National Governing Council of African Peer Review Mechanism and Commissioner of the Anti-corruption Commission. Served as MP for Mongu on both MMD and National Party tickets. Initiator and Founder National Secretary of MMD. In the private business sector, he has been General Manager for the multinational company, Blackhood Hodge. In the public economic sector, served as Controller of Group Management Services, Group Director of Projects and a subsidiary General Manager and Deputy General Manager of INDECO. In civic affairs, he served as a three term Chairperson of the Economic Association of Zambia, Chairperson of the Kitwe Press Club and Committee member of the Kitwe and District Chamber of Commerce, as well as a resource persons in training sessions of trade unionists, small scale industrialists and cooperators. Education in America paid for on a college sponsored tuition scholarship, with room, board and living expenses covered by utilizing father’s monthly pension of 20 British Pounds per month, except for post graduate educating covered by scholarship from Swedish International Development Assistance and fellowship from the UNZA staff development programme. 7) MBIKUSITA – Born in 1950 and now late – Named after our father, also called Wamundila, meaning one born on journey, on account of being born as our mother was walking from Mubanga Village mwa Saana to Mabumbu Clini mwa mukulo and also being born while our father had undertaken the trip to India, where he met Prime Minister Nehru and successfully solicited for Indian Government scholarship. The first students to be sent were Messrs. Simon Kapwepwe, Daniel Mukoboto and a third person of Copperbelt Kaonde background. Educated at Wusakile School, Kalela Scholl in Kitwe, Chalimbana School in Lusaka, Bentham School in Leicestershire, England, and Paddington Polytechnic College in London, England, Jackson State University in Mississippi, University of Pennsylvania and University of Colorado in USA. Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mechanical, BSc. (Mathematics), MSC. (Applied Mathematics) and Ph.D. (Mineral Economics). Served as Ambassador to Japan, South Korea and Australia. As well as being Permanent Secretary in Ministries of Finance and National Planning, Mines and Mineral Development and Commerce, Trade and Industry. Worked as Director General of the Investment Centre, after having worked for ZCCM, in between lecturing and serving as Dean of the Business School at Copperbelt University. As a student he had also worked for Leylands in the U.K. 8) MWANANYANDA – One of twins Born in 1952 at Nkana-Kitwe. Named after the eight’s King of Barotseland and one of the sons of Litunga Lewanika the First. Educated in Wusakile School, Zimbabwe, St. Johns College in Mongu, Oxford College of Further Education, and Jackson State University in Mississippi, Mississippi Southern University. BSc. MSC. PhD ( Bio-Chemistry). Worked through the ranks up to the top position of Director General of the National Scientific Research, currently lecturing at the Open University in Lusaka. 9) KUSIYO – One of twins Born in 1952 at Nkana-Kitwe. Named after one of the Litunga-la-Mbwela’s and one of the sons of Litunga Lewanika the First. Educated in Wusakile School, Zimbabwe, St. Johns College in Mongu, Oxford College of Further Education, and Jackson State University in Mississippi. BSc. MSC. (Computer Science). Worked Zambia Railways, Zambia Airways and the Eastern and Southern frican Management Institute, currently he Director of the Lyambai Development Institute. Based in Mongu. 10) SEKUFELE – Born in 1954 at Nkana-Kitwe. Named after the first Chief of Manyinga, Sekufele the son of Namiluko, the son of Mulambwa, the tenth Litunga of Barotseland. Educated in Wusakile School, Zimbabwe, St. Johns College in Mongu, and Bentham School in Leicestershire in England, College of Further Education and Jackson State University in Mississippi. BSc. MSC. (Education). Taught at the famous Piney Woods College in Mississippi and has been Principal High School sin Mississippi. 11) MBOLOLWA - Born in 1957 at Nkana-Kitwe. Named after one of Mbuywamwambwa’s daughter and a daughter of Litunga Lewanika the First. Educated in Zimbabwe, Holy Cross Secondary School and Bentham School in Leicestershire in England, University of Cardiff and King’s Colle of London University in U.K. BSc. MSC. (Ph. D (Pharmacology). Lectured at UNZA Medical School, King’s College of London University. Currently serving at the Commonwealth Secretariat ibase in London, England. 12) MWANGELWA – Born in 1960 at Nkana-Kitwe. Named after Mwangelwa son of Naluya the head of the Naluya clan. He is a named Lubinda the son of Litunga Lewanika the First’s younger brother Wamun’ongo. Lubinda was appoint the senior Chief of Sesheke after the Senior Chief Imwiko was enthroned as Litunga Imwiko the First. First. Educated in Zimbabwe, Kasempa, Kambule Technical Secondary School in Mongu, Bethany School in Kent, England, And Mississippi Southern University. BBA, MBA ( Business Administration and Accountancy). Worked for Deloites and Zambia Cashew Company. He is currently a Consulta with the Lyambai Development Institute and lecturing at the University of Barotseland. 13) MWENDAENDI – Born in 1962 at Nkana-Kitwe. Named after Mwendaendi Lewanika. Educated at Limulunga, St May’s School at marimba in Livingstone, Pinney Woods High School in Mississippi and Jackson State University. BSc. (Economics) M.B.A. and Professional Nursing Qualifications. Currently Managing a Company providing home health care services in Mississippi, USA
