As some of you know I am visiting my grandsons Riley and Cole. While Riley 6 y/o is at school, the boys mom has stepped out to do some errands. Cole, 3 y/o and I are “home alone”. We’ve been playing a lot. Who would have thought that me sitting down for just fifteen seconds and closing my eyes, right before lunch, would lead to being awakened by the smoke alarm, and a pleasant female voice coming out of nowhere, asking “do you have a life threatening emergency at, #### Poplar Lane, Zionsville Indiana?” Now ….. “WTF, who are you and where are you?” is not a response the magic pleasant voice wants to hear. This is a small community, with a fire department that has been serving the growing town since 1930. That’s what it says on the ceramic coffee cup, the nice firemen gave me. After they walked through the house to make sure there was no fire, other than the burned soup on the stove. My oh my, their boots make a mess on new carpet. Additionally all the stuff they wear, tanks, mask, axes and god only knows what else, sure do ding up the walls. You can’t imagine the look on my daughter-in-laws face as she drove up while the firemen were leaving. Well I am on the curb now with my suitcase waiting for a taxi. This was a short but exciting trip. I’ll be home soon.
