As some of you may know, I am American, and periodically I come up with Parent Money Saver Tips which I circulate to parents. The last one was the following: Dont want to spend money for helium balloons for the kids birthday parties? No worries! Buy some regular balloons and blow them up with regular air. Then when the kids arrive, open one of the ties, and tell the kids THESE balloons are filled with dialectium, NOT helium, which is even MORE fun! What, kids? Whats dialectium? Well, if you inhale it, it gives you a British accent for about ten minutes at a time! Then, suck in the dialectium and start chatting away like royalty. Odds are pretty good that it will sound as if youre surrounded by Hogwarts students, shortly afterwards. Of course, the one skeptic in the group needs to be told that he or she got the American accent balloon and this meddling kid should be quickly silenced with some extra cake. I do not have children.
