As some of you might already be aware, Ive recently stepped down as the CEO of STORYS.JP. This was not an easy decision, but it was one I felt was necessary for the future of the site. We’ve come a long way, reaching millions of readers since day one. Our thousands of user submitted stories have led to content partnerships with the likes of Yahoo! Japan, Fuji Television, and Huffington Post. Many of these stories have even gone on to be published, of which one became an Amazon #1 bestseller, selling 200,000 copies in less than 3 months. As we continue to grow in Japan, STORYS.JP is at a stage now where it needs a Japanese to take it to the next level. Starting April 1, I’ll be joining DeNAs venture capital team. I’ll still be based in Tokyo - I love this place - but I’ll be focusing on investments outside Japan. I see this as a great way to both serve as a bridge between Japan and abroad, as well as support other entrepreneurs building the great companies of tomorrow. Thanks to everyone who supported me.
