As someone with engineering background, non of the 2 main partys manifestos mode of tackling the power situation works, because there is a systemic failure that needs fixing. The NPP nearly chanced upon identifying the real problem and would have set a clear path to solving this nightmare if they had been serious about a critical program that used to air on TV frequently during their period in office. No matter how much capacity is added, this nightmare will still continue. The papers you so richly talk about, do not scratch the surface of the problem and recommendations from the world bank funded report I have read are of no good either. I keep wondering why African leaders think, the white man will lay bare his nations blueprint to development in the books for every tom-dick-and harry to read, at best you have access to knowledge that will help maintain a system that he has designed to benefit from. Our leaders better start thinking and if the youth of today realize the looming danger ahead, we will concern ourselves less with scoring political and academic points and focus on having them(leaders) set achievable developmental plans and working towards them. Any young person who claims that, young people are not capable of manning any responsible office, I tell you to look to Mr. Franklin here and compare him to any known director in the ministries who have risen through the ranks to their current positions and compare their current impact on this country, there is a vast difference and you know who the balance will heavily tip in favor of. It is better pointing the directions now when the ideas are fresh and have not gone stale, courtesy a rotten system that assimilates and dumps you out whiles corrupting your morals. Holding on to a notion that claims, old age walks hand in hand with wisdom betrays a young persons sense of vision and foresight because progressively, education expands whiles feeding fat on experience, hence becoming of much quality as compared to its past, its consequence being advancement in every sphere of life. The lack of realization of this fact is one of our cardinal failures that is why we are where we are. I am therefore forever upset, when politicians start discussing education because a great percentage of these people are clueless about what real education means. Here are companies started by young people, microsoft, apple, google, facebook etc. hence the real argument should be what should we do to encourage our versions of this young visionaries and stop holding onto archaic truisms and politicking. Growing up there use to be a joke about the Chinese, it sums up in this; that Americans were weary of any Chinese that seemed to spend too much time staring at any technological gadget of theirs. Sleep on that, you will appreciate why the Chinese have arrived. Like my Prophet T. B. Joshua admonishes, work(learn) hard like everything depended on you and Pray hard, like everything depended on God. Indeed all things depend on God. There goes my 2 cents...............
