As the earth started to break up, the last of the human race boarded the Freelance. The ship left the ruins behind in hopes of finding a new planet, not sure that we would live long enough to make it there. The days on the Freelance were long and hard. The work it took to keep the ship together was agonizing. The echo at times was deafening. The age of the ship made the work we put into it hard and most of the time useless. We had to find somewhere to land and soon, or we could kiss the human race good bye forever. Just as we were about to give up hope we found a planet that could manage the human race. We landed on the planet that we came to call Aster. We are still not too sure why we decided to call it this, but it stuck. As we looked around, we noticed animals, but not like we were used to. These animals could speak and seemed very interested in who and what we were. Shock seemed to hang in the air as both sides studied the other. “What are these strange creatures?” “I have never seen creatures like these.” The cat like being spoke with high intelligence.
