The demonstrators once again called for a restoration of “legitimacy” in the face of a “coup,” Ahram reported. The protests come after leading Muslim Brotherhood figure Essam El-Erian called for supporters to hit the streets on Friday, Saturday and beyond in order to “continue the revolution.” A number of squares and major streets have been closed to prevent protesters from occupying public spaces to stage sit-ins.
