As we all know, our pets decimate the wildlife population out - TopicsExpress

As we all know, our pets decimate the wildlife population out there if we let them, and thats not a good thing. Sonny, my ancient chihuahua is outside sunning himself while a hawk the size of a Rottweiler is eyeing him from a branch over his head. Thank God Akira is laying right next to him. Last year, right in the beginning of Spring, on the first really warm day, a gigantic snake appeared on my front steps. After calling my therapist, (snakes creep me out, yes, even the beautiful Sunny Liz Campbell) I tried to convince him that being there was not a good idea trying to sweep him off with a broom. I felt awful knowing that snakes are very territorial and he was there first. He stood his ground, coiling up and looking at me coldly. That same day happened to be the day the cable guys were installing my bundle, and one of them told me he was from Ghana, and that for $50 bucks he would take care of him and that the snake would kill my dog. I laughed and let Akira out of the house, because after all, she hasnt learned to poop on a toilet yet. She dispatched it in about 3 seconds, shredding it into about 50 pieces and then rolling on the pieces. :( I clearly remember back in Carolina long ago, my dog Brandy (Sonnys sister but a good 7 lbs, which is prob too heavy for a hawk to carry off) being chased in the yard by a hawk, and by the time I ran out there with a broom to run it off, my Bull Dog (in Carolina back then, Pit Bulls were all just Bull Dawgs) Angie coming out of nowhere and had her some hawk for a snack. I dont like it, but its predator and prey; and nothing is ever gonna change that. My mom always used to scream at the TV the minute a lion would go into a kill crouch on Animal Planet, and jump for the remote. I guess Im alot like her, thank God...
