As we approach the Fall Equinox , Mabon in the Wiccan religion , it is a time for tying up loose ends , paying off debts , and preparing yourself for the dark winter days ahead . Mabon is all about the fertile crops ready to be sown , the fatted livestock ready to be slaughtered , and a celebration of mother earth resting until the warm spring . It has been adopted as Thanksgiving . This was another example of Pagan religions holidays being adopted and twisted to suit the new religions . So think about doing a little Fall house cleaning , it makes the dark days ahead much easier to face when you are unburdened . Bright Blessings !!
