As we approach the time of Thanksgiving I continue to remind myself what it truly was and what it has become today. If you have never had the opportunity to view the we shall remain series, I highly recommend it! Most Americans have never had the opportunity to hear or they just dont care about the Native American side of the story. This series has that voice... It is not pointing the finger or saying anything negative completely directed at the travelers, it is simply saying please listen to our side of the story that was never told. I am also sitting down with family and giving thanks which is basically what thanksgiving has become today... However, I do ask that you to please take the opportunity to sit down and watch the video that I am attaching so that you can have,even in the back of your mind, the other side of the story. I believe that our native voice has been stifled enough throughout the years.... If the schools will not entertain the idea of teaching what was reality then maybe we as parents can reiterate a bit of true history and take some of the blinders off.
