As we come upon our 2 Year Anniversary we wanted to take time and look at all WE accomplished and some photos of memories.... -Kent County Public Library partnership & Summer Book Club -Kent County Middle School partnership -River Arts partnership -Washington College partnership -Garnett Elementary partnership & created the Junior Hoyas -Eastern Shore Land Conservancy (SEEC) partnership -City Council presentation -County Commisioners presentation -Board of Education presentation -Cultural Field Trip to Washington, D.C. for Martin Luther King Anniversary Week - December 2013 1st annual Bayside H.O.Y.A.S/KCMS Basketball Extravaganza and donated a basketball rack to the Middle School -Radio talk show guest (talk of the town) -several news features in the Kent County News and Star Democrat (front page as well) - Over 500 Community service hours -guest speakers at Horizon of Radcliffe - Volunteer for the Salvation Army during Christmas season -50 youth and counting. 2014 EVENTS - January 8th, 2014 started the Junior H.O.Y.A.S - March 2014 Polar Bear Plunge for Special Olympics in Maryland - March 2014 the Bayside H.O.Y.A.S are Incorporated - 2nd Annual Basketball Camp for females only with Washington College (First ever camp for Washington College) - Sponsorship from Chestertown Family Flooring - Started Summer League Basketball Teams for High School and Middle School - Had Hoyas trained in peer mediation - Partnership with Horizons of Kent County - Presentation to Kent County Rotary Club - Feature story on Washington College website - Participated in Tea Party with a information stand and participated in the Whacky Boat race - Kent County Commisioners gave $2,000 towards transportation expenses for summer (June-August) - Sent 8 Hoyas to Horizon of Kent County Summer Program - Basketball Summer League Play and Delaware Invitational - DMV Elite tournament and Summer Slam Ocean City (basketball) - 2014 Summer Book Club with KCPL. Started with the book titled Yummy (2nd consecutive year) - Hoyas Middle School basketball team named Champions in Summer League play (CCT&P) - 2nd Annual Cultural Trip to Washington, D.C. Our Nations Capital - 2nd consecutive year we have supplied school shoes for youth in our program - Received a Certificate of Appreciation from The Whitsitt Center (community service) - Received a $1500 donation from Project Outreach on Kent County - 2nd Year of Partnership with Washington College w/ Tutoring to all Kent County Middle and High School Students - Mock Trail for the book Yummy at Kent County District Court House w/ Natalie Lane & Kent County Public Library, Clerk of Court Mark Mumford, Chestertown Police Chief Adrian Baker, LCSW, Kent County attorney Steve Meehan, and Judge Joseph McCurdy - Founder and President John Queen showcased on Chestertown Spy (Spy Chat) - Offered FREE TUTORING to all Kent County Public School Students - 2014-2015 FREE BASKETBALL WORKOUTS to all Kent County Public School Students - Volunteered time and efforts to help fight homelessness in Washington D.C. With Deep Launching Inc. - 1st Annual Black Friday Flag Football Showdown with Councilman Sam Shoge - Certified 501 (C) 3 - 2nd Consecutive year as volunteers for the Salvation Army during Christmas season - Adopted families for Christmas and Department of Social Service partnership - Took Hoyas (Nytre Green) to the 2014 Military Bowl Virginia Tech vs. Cincinnati
