As we continue to see the world crumble around us with wars, - TopicsExpress

As we continue to see the world crumble around us with wars, terrorists, disease, famine, immorality and so many other things (and after reading my former post and how guilty I am of becoming fatalistic at times), this song has been encouraging me lately to dive deeper into Christ and His faithfulness. HE IS our one and only Cornerstone. He is our Rock and Refuge. One of my absolute favorite passages of scripture is in Psalm 91:1-4 (the whole chapter is wonderful) where it says: 1 Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.[a] 2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” 3 Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. 4 He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. Psalm 91:1-4 When I read He will cover you with his feathers I think of a mother hen or majestic eagle who gathers her young up under her feathers where it is warm and dry, and safe from the storm. She holds them close, ensuring their safety while the winds and rain pummel her. We are not promised as Christians to never go through trials, and being a Christian doesnt mean that were exempt from the effects of sin in our world such as disease, famine, and death. It DOES MEAN however, that no matter what, our eternity is sealed, and nothing can change that. Dont get me wrong, we must continually strive for Christs will in our lives, and continually seek and serve Him in everything we do. Just because we fervently serve Christ does not mean that life will be easy. Unlike some of the teachings by secular culture today, we will not have all green lights, no traffic, and a hot latte on our desk at work. In fact, following Christ puts everything worldly on the line and we are at risk to lose it all. However if we lose all in service to Christ, we have GAINED all. I am so often guilty of trying to hold on to my earthly things instead of giving all of myself to Christ and His service. It is easy to forget that the things that we have in this world truly are just that, things. Christ is the ONE CERTAIN THING that we can rely on for eternity. No matter what happens here on earth, He is constant and unchanging. I love the line in the song that says In every high and stormy gale, my anchor holds within the veil... Dont miss out on the incredible relationship that He desires to have with you. For anyone struggling with the burden of the state of our world today, I hope this song energizes you to strive to continue in your service to the Lord. He is Lord of ALL... https://youtube/watch?v=aEhSk7bfbK8
